Subject and correspondence files document the development, implementation, and monitoring of the State Implementation Plan, a state-level plan for air pollution abatement mandated by the EPA through the Clean Air Act. The files contain correspondence and memos, copies of state and federal statutes and regulations, hearing reports and transcripts, reports on air monitoring and emissions, technical literature, newsletters, and minutes of meetings of various air pollution committees and commissions. Correspondence is between the Bureau and private companies, local officials, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other DEC units.
